About the Artist

Based in Central Massachusetts, Jayna Mistry is a self-taught contemporary fluid abstract artist and the visionary behind Art(M)istry. Her work explores the harmony of color and movement, resulting in vibrant, flowing compositions that evoke tranquility, spontaneity, and emotional connection.

The Creative Journey

Inspired by nature’s rhythms and the beauty of everyday moments, Jayna uses an intuitive, experimental process to guide paint into organic forms. Her creative path began early, but it was in 2019 that she discovered fluid art, instantly captivated by its freedom and unpredictability. What began as a therapeutic outlet soon became a purpose.

Art as Solace

After the sudden loss of her father and a health crisis within her family, painting became Jayna’s sanctuary, a grounding force during chaos. This season reminded her that time is precious and that she must pursue what moves her. Today, her work is a reflection of that personal transformation, honoring both the light and the shadows of the journey.

Heritage and Influence

Originally from the UK and raised in a traditional Indian family, Jayna’s art is infused with the rich interplay of Eastern heritage and Western influences. This duality continues to shape her collections inviting viewers to experience art that flows beyond the canvas and into the heart and home.

Artist Statement

My art is a reflection of life’s rhythms. It is fluid, unpredictable, and deeply connected. I create intuitively by allowing paint to move freely across the canvas to capture the tension between spontaneity and harmony.

Inspired by nature’s organic forms and personal transformation, my process is an act of surrender. By layering and blending color, I embrace the unexpected in a way that mirrors life itself.

Art became my sanctuary during a season of profound loss. Today, it is a gift I offer to others as an invitation to pause, breathe, and find a moment of calm in a chaotic world.
